How the Lisboa Card works

Buy online, collect in Lisbon and start on first use.

  1. Buy online

    Choose 24, 48 or 72 hours and buy online. The voucher arrives instantly by email.
  2. Collect your card

    Exchange the voucher for the physical card at an official Ask-Me-Lisboa point, for example at the airport. All collection points and opening hours.
  3. Activate your card

    The card only activates on first use. From that moment your chosen period of 24, 48 or 72 hours begins.
  4. Explore Lisbon

    Show the card at the ticket desk or scanner for 51 attractions and all public transport.

Public Transport

With the Lisboa Card you travel by metro, bus, tram and the trains to Sintra and Cascais free of charge - simply present the card. The historic funiculars and the Elevador de Santa Justa have been out of service since September 2025.

When is the Lisboa Card activated?

The card is only activated on first use, whether entering a museum or passing through a metro gate. From that moment your chosen period of 24, 48 or 72 hours begins. After purchase you have 28 days to redeem the voucher.

Where do I pick up the card?

You can pick up the card at the official Ask-Me-Lisboa points, for example directly at Lisbon Airport or at Praça do Comércio. Simply present your voucher - no printout required.

Is the Lisboa Card worth it?

If you plan to visit attractions and use public transport, absolutely. Public transport plus two or three museums often costs more individually than the card itself.

Can I cancel the card?

At Tiqets you can cancel free of charge until 23:59 the day before your chosen date and receive a full refund. The official provider, by contrast, applies a strict no-refund policy.

Are there discounts for children?

Yes. Children aged 4 to 15 receive the Lisboa Card at a reduced child rate, selectable in the booking window. Children under 4 travel free on all public transport.
