How the Lisboa Card works

The Lisboa Card is the official tourist card of the city of Lisbon, available for 24, 48 or 72 hours.

Buy online

Choose your desired duration (24, 48 or 72 hours) and start date and purchase the Lisboa Card conveniently online in advance. After purchase, you'll receive a voucher by email that you can simply save on your smartphone.

Collect card

With the voucher, you collect the physical Lisboa Card from an official tourist information point – for example directly at Lisbon Airport or at Praça do Comércio in the city center.

Activate card

The card is only activated upon first use. Whether museum, metro or tram – the selected validity period starts from first use. A 24-hour card activated at 2:00 PM is valid until 2:00 PM the next day.

The card is activated only upon first use – whether entering a museum or at a metro barrier. From that moment, your selected time period (24, 48 or 72 hours) begins. After purchase, you have 28 days to activate it.

You can pick up the card at the official "Ask Me Lisboa" locations. The most popular locations are directly at Lisbon Airport, at Praça do Comércio (Terreiro do Paço), at Cais do Sodré and at Rossio. Simply show your voucher.

If you visit attractions and use public transport, absolutely! A 72h public transport day pass alone costs around €34. The 72h Lisboa Card costs €62 and additionally includes free entry to 51+ attractions. With just 2–3 museum visits, you'll more than make up the price difference.

Yes! The famous historic tram line 28 (Linha E28) is included in the unlimited public transport of the Lisboa Card. You can ride it as often as you want.

Yes, children aged 4 to 15 receive the Lisboa Card at reduced prices: 24h for €21, 48h for €28 and 72h for €35. Children under 4 travel free on all public transport.

Yes, free train travel to Sintra (from Rossio or Oriente station) and Cascais (from Cais do Sodré) is included. Note: Entry to attractions in Sintra such as Pena Palace is not free, but you get a 10% discount. Alternatively, there's the combo ticket "Lisboa Card + Pena Palace".
