How the Lisboa Card works

Buy online
Choose your preferred duration (24, 48 or 72 hours) and start date, and purchase the Lisboa Card conveniently online in advance. After purchase, you will receive a voucher by email that you can easily save on your smartphone. - 2
Collect your card
Use the voucher to pick up the physical Lisboa Card at an official tourist information office – for example, directly at Lisbon Airport or at Praça do Comércio in the city centre. - 3
Activate your card
The card is only activated on first use. Whether it's a museum, the metro or a tram – the chosen validity period starts from the first use. A 24h card activated at 2:00 PM is valid until 2:00 PM the following day. - 4

When is the Lisboa Card activated?+
The card is only activated upon first use – whether entering a museum or passing through a metro gate. From that moment, your chosen period (24, 48, or 72 hours) begins. After purchase, you have 28 days to activate it.
Where do I pick up the card?+
You can pick up the card at the official "Ask Me Lisboa" points. The most popular locations are directly at Lisbon Airport, at Praça do Comércio (Terreiro do Paço), at Cais do Sodré, and at Rossio. Simply present your voucher.
Is the Lisboa Card worth it?+
If you're visiting attractions and using public transport, absolutely! A 72h public transport day pass alone costs around €34. The 72h Lisboa Card costs €62 and additionally includes free entry to 51+ attractions. Just 2–3 museum visits are enough to more than make up the difference.
Is tram 28 included?+
Yes! The famous historic tram line 28 (Linha E28) is included in the unlimited public transport covered by the Lisboa Card. You can ride it as many times as you like.
Are there discounts for children?+
Yes, children aged 4 to 15 receive the Lisboa Card at discounted prices: 24h for €21, 48h for €28, and 72h for €35. Children under 4 travel free on all public transport.
Can I travel to Sintra with the card?+
Yes, the free train ride to Sintra (from Rossio or Oriente station) and Cascais (from Cais do Sodré) is included. Please note: entry to attractions in Sintra such as Pena Palace is not free, but you receive a 10% discount. Alternatively, there is a combined ticket "Lisboa Card + Pena Palace".
